Your Downeast Maine Escape

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay! It was clean, warm, and extremely cozy. It was close to everything we wanted to see/do and had a lot of very good restaurants near by. The amenities were as listed and Susan was very clear in her descriptions/instructions. There were helpful recommendations provided to us about the surrounding area. We would happily stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at Susan's beautiful cozy cabin. We loved the interior setup and the well furnished kitchen that made eating breakfast early in the morning super convenient and relaxing. Susan was easy to communicate with and she made sure we felt comfortable. I would definitely recommend her cabin for a nice getaway especially if you are visiting Acadia National Park.

Let me start off by saying our group appreciated simple checkout instructions. The view was breathtaking. Unbelievable sunset views from the home and a good sunrise spot on the other side Hancock point. The home is rich in history and charming. The place was huge. Very spacious and the garage had a lot of things to make your stay more enjoyable. We absolutely loved our time away at Susan’s place and would love to return again. Of note, bring your own shampoo and body wash. Sometimes I bank on airbnbs having these but their supplies was low.

Our stay at this cabin was an amazing combination of close by Acadia and neighboring towns as well as incredibly peaceful (zero road noise). We traveled with a 7,5 and 3 yr old, so we loved exploring the forest surrounding the cabin and the loft area gave them a hide out/special space. We encountered only one minor question to which Susan was quick to respond. She went above and beyond! The cabin had everything we needed and was decorated in a cozy Maine cabin style (which once contributed to the vacation we were seeking!). BONUS: the nonstick pan supplied in the cabin was actually nonstick!!

Our family of four had a super nice stay. The home was cozy, comfortable, and clean. We drove to Mount Desert Island every day to enjoy Acadia National Park, and the house was perfectly situated. The drive was about 35-45 minutes, depending on where we went in the park. There is a grocery store nearby, and the town of Ellsworth is quaint. The property owners gave us fresh vegetables one day, and overall we are very happy to have stayed here.

This place was great. Very cozy and spotless. With the perfect accessories provided. Would recommend to anyone!

This was a great space to use as a home-base for our family excursions to both Acadia and West Quoddy Head. The view was beautiful and the area was peaceful. Our kids didn’t want to leave and said they wanted to come back every fall break. Highly recommended as a more reasonably priced and more peaceful alternative to anything in the bar harbor area. As they say the real Maine starts East of Ellsworth!

Loved our stay here. Close to all the attractions yet sits off the beaten path in a quiet bayside area. Susan was great! Quick to respond and very sweet! She even contacted the owner for us when my wife inquired about a painting in the house. Thank you Susan!

This was such a fun cabin to stay in! My kids loved the loft and the spiral staircase. We didn’t have the best weather so didn’t get to enjoy the porch but could tell it would have been lovely to sit and relax on. Our only complaint was that the WiFi didn’t work at all the whole time we were there and our phones didn’t get service either. This was only relevant because the weather changed a lot so we wanted to be able to look that up as well as the times of the tides and how far away each place we wanted to go was, so that made it challenging to plan our days. As soon as we drove to the main road though we were able to get service again and make decisions so it wasn’t a deal breaker. Just might be good to know in advance of your visit. All in all we enjoyed our stay and otherwise liked the seclusion.

We had a great stay and would happily give it 5 stars. The place was comfortable, peaceful, and exactly what we needed for our trip. The only minor note was a slight smell from ongoing woodwork in the downstairs room, which I’m sure will disappear once the work is fully completed. Overall, a wonderful stay!
